Israel launches first ‘Joshua Trail’ in Judea and Samaria

Israel has commenced work on the ‘Joshua Trail,’ the first project under a new government initiative titled ‘Biblical Trails in Judea and Samaria.’ The NIS 3.2 million ($1 million) project aims to develop tourism routes that connect historical and biblical sites across the region.

The trail will link the Elon Moreh Heritage Center to the summit of the Mount Kabir Nature Reserve. Planned infrastructure includes an accessible walking promenade and a suspension bridge designed to provide panoramic views of Samaria.

Tourism Minister Haim Katz stated that the initiative is intended to expand tourism infrastructure, attract more visitors, and strengthen local settlements. The project is a collaborative effort involving the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Heritage, the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, the Samaria Regional Council, the Judea and Samaria Regional Cluster, and the Elon Moreh Heritage Center.
