Israel lifts gasoline price to 8.09 shekels per litre

Effective midnight between Saturday and Sunday (2 August), Israel’s Fuel and Gas Administration announced that the maximum retail price for 95‑octane self‑service gasoline rose by 61 agorot to 8.09 shekels per litre, while full‑service stations will charge up to 8.34 shekels. In Eilat, where VAT is not applied, the self‑service price reached 6.85 shekels.

The increase reflects a 22 % jump in international gasoline prices driven by higher oil prices and a 1.9 % rise in the dollar, said Pat Shif’a Abu Hatisira, director of the administration. The move follows several months of volatile fuel prices, including a 1.03‑shekel rise in April and subsequent fluctuations.
