Israel links Gaza reconstruction to Hamas disarmament
Israel has maintained its stance that military operations in the Gaza Strip will continue and no further withdrawal from the ‘yellow line’ will occur until Hamas is disarmed. Israeli security sources indicate that reconstruction efforts are also contingent upon this disarmament.
Regarding targeted operations, Israeli security officials claim they have received a ‘green light’ from the United States to conduct strikes against individuals deemed direct threats. However, U.S. perspectives suggest this authorization is limited to ‘imminent threats’ rather than an open mandate for all assassinations. Discussions between Jared Kushner and Benjamin Netanyahu focused on creating a mechanism to reduce friction and manage emerging threats, potentially with Egyptian participation.
Separately, security services in Gaza reported the exposure of an informant who collaborated with Israeli intelligence. The individual reportedly began working with Israeli intelligence via Facebook in November 2023. The informant admitted to providing intelligence that led to the targeting of various individuals, most notably the assassination of Al-Qassam Brigades leader Ezzedine al-Haddad, by tracking his movements and vehicle.
