Israel military costs in Gaza projected to reach $169 billion

Israel’s military campaign in the Gaza Strip is projected to reach a total cost of $169 billion, making it the longest and most expensive operation in the nation's history. According to reports, the offensive has already increased Israel's national debt by approximately $130 billion. The Ministry of War anticipates allocating nearly $500 billion to the military sector over the next decade to sustain ongoing operations.

In contrast to the rising military costs, reports from the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) indicate a significant increase in humanitarian aid entering Gaza since the October 2025 ceasefire. Data shows that over 2 million tons of food and 21,000 tons of medical supplies have been facilitated. An average of 600 trucks enter the enclave daily, with 70% to 80% carrying food products.

United Nations data confirms improvements in food security following the truce, noting a substantial drop in the prices of essential goods. However, international organizations warn that high needs persist due to ongoing infrastructure challenges, funding shortages, and distribution difficulties.
