Israel moves to cement permanent defense partnership with United States

The confidential report details talks on expanding intelligence cooperation and the possibility of establishing a permanent U.S. military base on Israeli territory, as well as efforts to enlist leading figures from the American technology sector for sustained political and financial backing.

U.S. Congress has already begun implementing parts of the Israeli strategy. The House of Representatives quietly passed Section 219 of the National Defense Authorization Act, creating a permanent initiative for U.S.–Israeli defense‑technology collaboration and proposing an executive coordinator in the Pentagon to oversee joint research, development and industrial cooperation. Six Democratic lawmakers joined Republicans in supporting the measure, and the proposal now moves to the Senate for further consideration.
