Israel prevents terror attack during Yom Kippur

During Yom Kippur, Israeli security forces prevented a terror attack after the Shin Bet intelligence agency identified two Palestinian individuals linked to Hamas. Following this intelligence, soldiers from the Duvdevan unit arrested the suspects in Kabatia, near Jenin, in the West Bank.

In a separate incident in Umm el-Fahm, the body of a Palestinian man in his 40s was discovered in a residential building. Police are investigating the circumstances of his death, including the possibility of homicide, noting the individual was in the country without a permit.

On the cultural side, Yom Kippur brought a significant standstill to Israeli cities like Tel Aviv. Research from the Israel Democracy Institute indicates that 74 percent of Jewish Israelis fast during the holiday, with 47 percent of those identifying as secular participating in at least partial fasting.
