Israel reorganizes military positions in southern Lebanon

The Israeli military is transitioning to a new phase of operations in southern Lebanon, characterized by a reorganization of its forces along the so-called ‘Yellow Line’. Following the destruction of Hezbollah infrastructure in the Ali al-Tahir hills and the Al-Mansouri area, the military plans to reduce troop numbers and redistribute personnel. This shift involves establishing a new line of military positions and deploying additional defensive assets to protect northern Israel while maintaining operational freedom and defensive depth.

This redeployment aims to alleviate pressure on combat units and provide reserve soldiers with rest periods. However, the move is viewed by some analysts as an attempt to manage a long-term military presence with fewer troops rather than a precursor to a withdrawal.

In response, Lebanese military sources indicate that Hezbollah has been relocating precision missiles, defense systems, and weaponry to villages west of the ‘Yellow Line’ in areas such as Iqlim al-Tuffah, Jabal al-Rayhan, and Jabal Safi. The group is reportedly moving equipment from tunnels and lost sites to more fortified, rear positions to avoid Israeli fire.
