Israel sanctions Coral Oil for supplying fuel to Hezbollah-owned distributor

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has imposed sanctions on Coral Oil, a company registered in the United Kingdom, following an investigation by the National Bureau for Counter Terror Financing. The investigation determined that the energy company provided approximately 130,000 liters of gasoline and diesel to Al-Amana (also known as Al-Amanah), a fuel distributor owned by Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Hezbollah had previously been designated as a terrorist organization in 2020. The Israeli Defense Ministry stated that these fuel supplies are critical for sustaining Hezbollah’s operational capabilities, including the movement of weapons and military components, the operation of generators, and the maintenance of underground infrastructure. While Coral Oil is registered in the UK, it conducts the majority of its operations from Beirut and is owned by Lebanon’s A. Yamin Group S.A.L.
