Israel spent $470,000 on PM hair and makeup services since 2019
Official records from the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office reveal that the state spent approximately $470,000 on hair styling, makeup, and official representation for prime ministers between 2019 and August 2026.
Data released following a Freedom of Information request by attorney Yaara Winkler-Shalit shows that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife, Sara, accounted for roughly 90 percent of these expenses. Spending peaked in 2025 at about $111,000, driven largely by international travel, including a February 2025 trip to Washington, D.C., which cost roughly $13,500 for styling services.
In comparison, total spending in 2022 during the tenures of Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid was significantly lower at $27,600. The government redacted the names of specific stylists and professionals from the documents, citing “state security” concerns.
