Israel warns Turkey over ‘dangerous adventures’ in Syria

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has issued a sharp warning to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, accusing him of dragging Turkey into ‘dangerous adventures’ in Syria. The remarks follow an Israeli airstrike on a military airport in Idlib, northwest Syria. Israel claimed the strike was a response to the alleged deployment of Turkish troops at the facility.

Turkey and Syria have both denied the claims regarding Turkish military presence at the site. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the military action was taken after previous warnings to Damascus regarding Turkish military reinforcement in Syria were not sufficiently understood.

Katz urged Erdogan to limit his criticism of Israel to the Turkish Parliament rather than testing Israel’s determination to defend its security interests. The incident marks an escalation in tensions between the two nations regarding regional influence and military activity within Syrian borders.
