Israeli airstrike injures journalist in southern Lebanon

Journalist Ali Chbib and his cameraman were injured during an Israeli airstrike in Nabatieh al-Fawqa, southern Lebanon, while preparing for a live broadcast for Al-Manar, a broadcaster affiliated with Hezbollah. The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that two journalists were wounded in strikes against the city on Sunday.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) acknowledged strikes in the Nabatieh region but denied targeting journalists. The IDF stated, “The IDF does not target uninvolved individuals or journalists under any circumstances,” and claimed a journalist was injured near a structure classified as terrorist infrastructure. The military reported that the strikes targeted Hezbollah weapon depots and a command center located in a building that previously functioned as a hospital.

The strikes occurred following Hezbollah's launch of explosive drones. The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that 11 people were killed in the Israeli attacks across southern Lebanon, including two women, with nine of the fatalities occurring in Nabatieh al-Fawqa.
