Israeli Chief of Staff Says Battle Unfinished, Threatens Wider Operations in Southern Lebanon

Israel’s chief of staff, Iy al‑Zamir, warned on Wednesday that the fight against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon is not over. He said Israeli forces have taken control of several areas and will continue clearing what he described as terrorist infrastructure, adding that the army is ready to expand its operations if necessary.

During a field visit he inspected the Kfir Brigade’s first land‑based drill in the region and met commanders of the 91st Division. Al‑Zamir emphasized that Israeli troops will not withdraw from positions in Lebanon until long‑term security is guaranteed, and he called for a larger army to sustain the mission across multiple fronts, including Lebanon, Syria, Gaza and the West Bank.
