Israeli cyclist found dead in Finland after week-long disappearance

The body of a 66-year-old Israeli man from Tel Aviv was discovered by the side of a road in Finland on Sunday. The man had been missing for approximately one week while on a solo cycling trip.

Local police believe the individual may have been struck by a vehicle. While the exact circumstances remain under investigation, authorities are working to determine the precise cause of death and the specifics of the accident.

The international unit of ZAKA is collaborating with the Israeli Foreign Ministry, the local Finnish authorities, and the victim's family to manage the administrative and legal procedures. Efforts are currently focused on the repatriation of the body to Israel, where the man is expected to be buried in Safed.
