Israeli drone strike kills child and father in Gaza City

An Israeli drone strike killed a 6-year-old girl, Wafa Akila, and her father, Yusuf Akila, as they were traveling to her first day of school near the Hamid intersection west of Gaza City. The incident occurred amidst ongoing military operations and reported violations of a ceasefire agreement that went into effect on October 10, 2025.

In addition to the strike in Gaza City, Israeli forces reportedly shelled the area around Abu Asi school in the Shat refugee camp and targeted neighborhoods in eastern Gaza and the Al-Bureij camp. Reports indicate that Israeli military actions have resulted in significant civilian casualties, including children.

In southern Lebanon, Israeli airstrikes targeted a building and a vehicle in the village of Kefr Rumman near Nabatieh, resulting in the deaths of 11 civilians, including two infants. These strikes occur as political tensions remain high regarding the control of territory and the potential displacement of populations in the region.
