Israeli forces conduct incursions in Damascus and Quneitra

Israeli military forces have conducted incursions and artillery shelling in the Damascus and Quneitra governorates of southern Syria. In the Damascus countryside, Israeli forces reportedly entered agricultural lands near Beit Jinn using tanks, military vehicles, and bulldozers. Artillery strikes in the area caused limited fires, though no immediate casualties were reported.

In the Quneitra province, Israeli forces involving tanks and armored personnel carriers moved into areas near Ain al-Nouriya and Tal Ahmar. This follows previous reports of military movements in villages such as Al-Muallaqa and Taranja.

The escalations occur following the decision by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to cease adherence to the 1974 Disengagement Agreement. This move has led to increased Israeli presence in the buffer zone and areas of Mount Hermon. The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned these actions, describing them as a violation of national sovereignty and international law.
