Israeli forces conduct incursions in southern Syria
Israeli military forces have conducted multiple incursions into the southern Syrian regions of Daraa and Quneitra. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, troops entered the villages of Al-Ardah and Maariya in the Yarmouk Basin area of western Daraa.
In Quneitra, Israeli patrols have been reported near Khan Arnabah, where they stopped and searched passersby. Other recent movements include incursions into the village of Saida al-Hanout and the town of Kodna, where searches were reportedly conducted inside homes.
These recurring military actions, including patrols, checkpoints, and raids, are increasingly frequent near the Golan Heights border. While Israel maintains these measures are temporary security actions following the fall of the previous regime, observers note that the repetitive nature of these incursions is creating a new operational reality in southern Syria, potentially allowing Israel to impose security considerations within Syrian territory despite legal sovereignty.
