Israeli-German tourist dies in paragliding accident in Bello

A 23-year-old Israeli-German dual national, identified as Noam Mamam, died on Thursday following a paragliding accident in the San Félix area of Bello, Antioquia. The incident occurred around noon on the Medellín-San Pedro de los Milagros road when the paraglider lost control and collided with a ravine in a forested area.

The Colombian instructor, Emiliano Muñetón Castro, sustained serious injuries and remains in critical condition at the Hospital Pablo Tobón Uribe in Medellín.

Local authorities, including the Bello Fire Department and the Prosecutor's Office, responded to the scene. Preliminary reports suggest that strong wind gusts and adverse weather conditions may have caused the loss of control. While local authorities inspected the equipment rental establishment and found its documentation to be in order, investigations remain open to determine the exact causes of the accident.
