Israeli healthcare providers recruit medics for West Bank settlements at London event
Israeli healthcare providers, including Terem and Clalit, distributed leaflets at the MedEx medical convention in London to recruit Jewish doctors for positions in West Bank settlements and the Golan Heights. The event, organized in partnership with the Israeli Ministry of Aliyah and Integration, Nefesh B’Nefesh, and the Jewish Agency for Israel, aimed to encourage medical professionals to emigrate to Israel.
The recruitment drive targets a domestic shortage of medical staff in Israel, following a significant increase in doctors leaving the country between 2023 and 2025. The leaflets specifically advertised roles in settlements such as Ma’ale Adumim, Beitar Illit, Modiin Illit, and Katzrin, all of which are considered illegal under international law.
This recruitment activity occurs as the UK government moves toward implementing sanctions against illegal settlement activity and banning the promotion of settlement land or property within the United Kingdom. British lawmakers have indicated that upcoming sanctions may allow for legal consequences against organizers of such events.
