Israeli military chief outlines new strategy for Gaza and Lebanon

Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir has outlined a new military approach aimed at preventing adversaries in Gaza and Lebanon from rebuilding their capabilities. During a field tour in the Gaza Strip, Zamir stated that the military will continue to operate offensively and systematically to weaken enemies and dismantle armed infrastructure before threats can fully emerge.

Zamir emphasized that the military has adapted its tactics since October 7 and remains committed to pursuing those involved in the attacks. He noted that the military is currently engaged in a complex, multi-front battle involving Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, and other fronts.

In a separate security discussion with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Zamir addressed tensions in the West Bank. Military leadership expressed concern over an increase in nationalist crimes committed by settlers, which they warned could act as a “match that could ignite everything in a moment.” Commanders noted that the military is facing exhaustion in the West Bank as it struggles to manage these incidents alongside its primary security objectives.
