Israeli military completes operation in southern Lebanon
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have announced the conclusion of a brigade-level military operation in the El Mansouri area of southern Lebanon. The mission, carried out by the 55th Paratrooper Reserve Brigade with support from the elite Ya'alom unit, aimed to prevent Hezbollah from repositioning within the established security zone.
During the operation, the IDF reported the destruction of more than 600 pieces of infrastructure described as terrorist assets. This included the neutralization of eight underground tunnel networks, one of which was discovered within a civilian residence. Additionally, military forces located dozens of missile launchers and launch sites that had been abandoned in the area prior to the implementation of the ceasefire agreement.
The operation took place in a security zone where residents had been ordered to evacuate two months prior. While the IDF maintains the mission was necessary to remove threats and uphold the ceasefire, the area remains subject to ongoing military activity and sporadic artillery fire.
