Israeli military operations impact Syrian village of Beit Jinn
Recurrent Israeli military incursions in southern Syria are severely disrupting daily life and livelihoods in the village of Beit Jinn, located near the Golan Heights. According to Walid Akasha, the village chief, military vehicles frequently enter the Ayn al-Kurum area, causing constant fear among residents due to explosions, bombings, and rocket fire.
The military presence has significantly impacted local agriculture, particularly grape cultivation, which is a vital source of income. Many residents, especially young people, avoid their vineyards for fear of being detained or targeted by Israeli authorities. Additionally, the continuous presence of drones has contributed to a pervasive sense of anxiety and insecurity within the community.
