West Bank olive trees and farmland targeted by Israeli military orders

Israeli authorities have issued several military orders in the West Bank targeting the removal of vegetation and olive trees. In Beit Rima, northwest of Ramallah, forces leveled 3.1 hectares of farmland and uprooted approximately 400 olive trees.

Additional orders have been issued for the Jenin, Ramallah, and Al-Bireh governorates. The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reports that 51 such orders have been issued between the start of 2026 and September, affecting a total of 209.3 hectares. One specific order targets 94.79 dunams in the Wadi al-Hamata area of Deir Nizam.

Local residents report being given as little as 12 hours to remove trees themselves before enforcement. These actions occur as farmers prepare for the olive harvest, which typically begins in October, threatening the livelihoods of thousands of families. Separately, Israeli forces conducted raids across the West Bank, resulting in the arrest of at least nine Palestinians in various locations including Nablus, Tubas, and Ramallah.
