Israeli military plans withdrawal from southern Lebanon's Yellow Line

The Israeli military is preparing to destroy underground infrastructure located beneath the Ali al-Tahir heights in southern Lebanon. According to Israeli media and the Israel Broadcasting Authority, the military intends to detonate two underground passages in the coming days, with military sources stating that no personnel remain inside the bunkers.

Following these operations, the Israeli army plans to withdraw from the “Yellow Line” to a new defensive position known as the “Grey Line,” situated between 2 and 4 kilometers from the border. This new line is expected to include approximately 20 permanent military sites. Operational control in the vacated areas will rely on aerial surveillance and monitoring to track armed groups.

Israel has communicated to the Lebanese government, via the United States, that the return of displaced residents to these evacuated areas will not be permitted at this stage. The issue of civilian resettlement is expected to be addressed during direct negotiations scheduled to resume in Rome next week. Meanwhile, military analysts note that the operation comes amid high alert, as Hezbollah reportedly pressures Iran regarding potential responses to Israeli actions.
