Israeli military raids Biddu in West Bank, arresting approximately 50 people

Hundreds of Israeli soldiers and dozens of military vehicles entered the West Bank town of Biddu, located northwest of Jerusalem, during a nighttime operation. According to the Jerusalem Palestinian governorate, approximately 50 people were arrested during the raid.

The operation followed the killing of an Israeli settler. While the suspected perpetrator, a resident of Biddu, had already been arrested, the military launched the raid to search for potential accomplices. The Israeli army did not provide an immediate comment on the operation.

Nazmi Mansour, the mayor of Biddu, reported that the heavily armed contingent conducted house-to-house searches that resulted in significant property damage. Mansour described the event as a “campaign of destruction,” noting that furniture and windows were broken during the searches. He stated that nearly every house in the town saw one or two residents arrested and called upon the Red Crescent to assist in locating the detainees.
