Israel police arrest nine protesters in Tel Aviv over West Bank settler violence

Israeli police detained nine demonstrators during a protest on Kaplan Street in Tel Aviv that gathered more than 200 participants. The rally was organized by the left‑wing Hadash party and allied groups to denounce settler violence and Israeli military rule in the occupied West Bank.

Police stated the demonstration proceeded without authorization and disrupted public order, leading to the arrests. The protest occurred a day after Israeli forces killed four Palestinians in the town of Tal near Nablus during a settler incursion that also resulted in two Israeli deaths. In response, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered a wide‑scale military operation across the West Bank, with nearly 50 Palestinians arrested in Tal and about 70 homes raided. The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society reported at least 80 detainees across the territory, calling the measures "collective punishment."
