Israeli political parties address Diaspora relations and antisemitism
During the Israeli election cycle, political parties have addressed their stances on Diaspora affairs and global Jewish connections. While security and the economy remain the primary concerns for voters, Zionist parties have engaged with issues regarding antisemitism and the relationship between Israel and world Jewry.
Alex Rif, representing the Yashar party led by Gadi Eisenkot, highlighted the rising tide of antisemitism and the importance of aliyah and absorption. Rif criticized the current Netanyahu government for attempts to modify the Law of Return, specifically regarding the grandchild clause, and called for an international coalition to combat antisemitism and increased investment in programs like Birthright and Masa.
