Israeli political shifts: Erdan rejects Likud offer and Haskel loses court petition

Former Minister and Ambassador Gilad Erdan stated in a recent interview that he was offered a position within the Likud list but rejected it. Erdan expressed his intention to lead his own political framework, arguing that a "political explosion" is necessary to force the creation of a broad Zionist unity government.

The Likud party has categorically denied Erdan's claims, stating that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not offer him a position, either directly or indirectly. Erdan also criticized Defense Minister Israel Katz regarding the blocking of his potential appointment as Chairman of Israel Aerospace Industries, claiming political considerations were prioritized over national security.

Separately, the Supreme Court of Israel rejected a petition by MK Sharan Haskel. Haskel sought to be recognized as a single-member faction in the Knesset after resigning from the "Statehood Right" faction to establish the "Israel First" party. The court ruled that it would not interfere in internal political processes, noting that granting her request would involve enforcing a previous political agreement against the current wishes of the involved factions.
