Israeli public expresses skepticism over Gaza peace plan and Iran strategy

A survey by the Misgav Institute for National Security and Zionist Strategy reveals widespread skepticism among the Israeli Jewish population regarding the 15-point plan for Gaza proposed by Donald Trump. Approximately 74% of respondents believe the plan will fail to achieve the complete disarmament of Hamas and the dismantling of the group. This sentiment is reportedly shared across the Israeli political spectrum.

Meir Ben-Shabbat, president of the Misgav Institute, noted that Israeli public opinion is not prepared to accept agreements that allow enemy forces to remain in place. He emphasized that Israel must maintain clear positions regarding the elimination of terrorists, refusal to withdraw from occupied territories, and the prevention of reconstruction while weapons remain in Gaza.

In a separate analysis of regional security, analysts suggest that despite operational successes in the conflict against Iran, Israel's strategic position remains precarious. Following military actions that resulted in the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, concerns have been raised that Iran may accelerate its nuclear program due to a perceived loss of conventional deterrence. Furthermore, 92% of Israelis surveyed in June indicated that Iran has either won the conflict or benefited more from it than Israel.
