Israeli Reservist Assaulted by Spanish Tourist in Philippines

Israeli army reservist Uriah Brolmes was attacked by a Spanish tourist on the island of Siargao in the Philippines after the tourist learned Brolmes was Israeli. The tourist shouted antisemitic slurs such as “baby killer” and “genocida,” then punched Brolmes, sparking a street fight. Brolmes, who said he had served in Gaza and Lebanon, tried to avoid violence but defended himself, sustaining a broken finger.

Footage from a security camera showed the confrontation, and local police were reported to have mocked the incident rather than intervene. The episode highlights a case of antisemitic aggression against an Israeli visitor abroad.
