Israel Police Commissioner Danny Levy suspended right‑wing activist and rapper Yoav Eliasi from his position as commander of a Tel Aviv district rapid‑response squad after a Haaretz investigation revealed he boasted about using police connections to keep a nightclub‑restaurant complex open. The report said Eliasi instructed partners to contact him for any police matters and claimed to intervene directly with officers.

Following the suspension, Eliasi’s firearm was confiscated and the police Internal Investigations Department opened a review of his conduct. The investigation highlighted his close relationship with officer Menashe Mansour and testimony from venue security head Idan Harpak that staff routinely turned to Eliasi for police assistance.
