Israeli series Fauda reaches high viewership in Arab nations

The fifth season of the Israeli series ‘Fauda’ has achieved significant viewership across several Arab nations according to Netflix data. For the week ending September 13, the series was the most-watched program on the platform in Lebanon.

In other Arab countries, the show secured notable rankings: fourth in Jordan and Qatar, fifth in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, seventh in Oman, and ninth in Kuwait. This viewership comes despite heightened regional tensions following the October 7, 2023, attacks.

Created by journalist Avi Isharoff and actor Lior Raz, both of whom have backgrounds in the Israeli military, the series is inspired by experiences within the elite Duvdevan unit. The show depicts undercover security operations and counter-terrorism efforts involving Israeli characters who speak Arabic. The creators aimed to present the atmosphere of clandestine operations and security conflicts between Israel and Palestinians in a cinematic style.
