Israeli settlement plan aims to control 100 strategic points in West Bank Area A

A Palestinian resistance group warned that a newly disclosed Israeli settlement plan seeks to establish control over roughly 100 strategic locations inside Area A of the occupied West Bank – zones that, under the Oslo II accords, remain under full Palestinian civil and security authority. The scheme, reportedly coordinated by the Union of Settlers and the Habitta (Al‑Watan) forum, was allegedly presented to senior Israeli ministers close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and coincides with the Israeli army’s recent creation of a military outpost in Jenin. Palestinian officials describe the plan as a “dangerous shift” from settlement lobbying to formal implementation, aimed at fragmenting Palestinian geography, undermining the Oslo agreements and advancing de‑facto annexation. They called on the international community and human‑rights bodies to intervene and halt what they view as a direct violation of international law.

The report, first published by an Israeli newspaper and echoed by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Committee, emphasizes that the targeted points include major Palestinian cities and that the plan signals a broader policy of consolidating Israeli control over the occupied territories.
