Israeli settler arrested after protesting administrative detention order
A settler from Ma'itmar was arrested on Tuesday after protesting at the Ariel police station against an extended administrative detention order that requires him to remain in his parents' home for another six months. The order, signed by Major General Avi Blot, the head of the Central Command, was issued despite the parents' formal objections, which they say stem from repeated police intimidation.
Lawyer Nati Rom of the human‑rights organization Chonenu denounced the decision, saying it forces an innocent family with infants to endure a "continuous hell" of police visits and home invasions. The settler filmed the incident, criticized the policy, and faces a court hearing later this week.
