Israeli settlers attack NBC News crew in West Bank

An NBC News team was attacked by masked Israeli settlers in the West Bank while conducting an interview in the town of Jalud, near Nablus. The crew was interviewing Aida Ahmed Abdullah, a 51-year-old Palestinian woman, when a vehicle with Israeli license plates approached.

According to reports from correspondent Matt Bradley and producer Lahawez Jabari, several masked men exited the vehicle and attacked the group with sticks and stones. The assault resulted in injuries to Bradley, cameraman Khaldoon Eid, and Jabari. The attackers also reportedly damaged the crew’s vehicle and knocked Abdullah unconscious. Jabari noted that while one attacker appeared to be carrying a firearm, it was not used during the incident.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the violence, attributing the incident to a “handful of rioters.” The attack occurs amid a broader trend of settler-related violence in the West Bank; UN data indicates that 76 Palestinians have been killed in such attacks through July 24.
