Israeli settlers use isolation tactics to displace Palestinian families in West Bank

In the West Bank, Israeli settlers are reportedly employing a new strategy to displace Palestinian families by isolating their homes and cutting off essential utilities. This tactic involves identifying residences located away from village centers, cutting off water and electricity, and surrounding the properties to prevent residents from leaving.

In the village of Jalud, the Tuwasi family was forced to abandon their homes after a two-week siege, which have since been occupied by settlers. A similar situation is unfolding in Qusra, south of Nablus, where settlers and soldiers have established a presence near several homes. Residents in Qusra reported being cut off from food and water, and faced significant difficulties accessing medical care; an ambulance attempting to reach a sick child was initially blocked.

General Avi Bluth, the Israeli military commander for the area, visited the affected families and committed to removing the settlers. While the military dismantled a settler tent in the area, reports indicate that settlers have remained in the vicinity with their belongings. Additionally, the Israeli military occupied eight homes in Qusra during a multi-day operation, though six of those homes were later vacated.
