Nabatieh: Israeli double-tap strike kills one and targets rescuers
An Israeli drone strike in Nabatieh, southern Lebanon, resulted in one death and multiple injuries. The incident involved a “double-tap” strike, where a second attack targeted medical personnel and rescuers arriving at the scene of an initial strike on a vehicle.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that the second strike hit an ambulance from the Al-Risala Foundation, causing significant damage to the vehicle. One victim, identified as Ali Sabah, died from his wounds in the hospital. The Ministry condemned the incident as an “unacceptable violation of international humanitarian law,” accusing the Israeli military of the continued targeting of rescue teams.
In a separate incident, a Lebanese Civil Defense worker was targeted by a drone while attempting to extinguish a fire in the Nabatieh district. While no injuries were reported in that specific attack, the team was forced to withdraw from the area. These strikes occur amid ongoing tensions and military activity in southern Lebanon, despite a framework ceasefire agreement intended to facilitate the withdrawal of Israeli forces and the disarmament of Hezbollah.
