Israeli tourists assaulted on Koh Pha Ngan by French national

An Israeli mother, 62, and her 23-year-old daughter were seriously injured during an unprovoked assault on the island of Koh Pha Ngan, Thailand. The victims reported that the attack occurred near a waterfall after a man on a motorcycle approached them and asked their nationality.

Upon learning they were Israeli, the suspect allegedly challenged them regarding the war in Gaza. The mother stated that the man then attacked her viciously, causing her to lose consciousness, while her daughter was also beaten while attempting to protect her. Both women required multiple surgeries at a hospital on Koh Samui to treat their injuries.

The suspect, identified as a French national named Paul Gaubert, was arrested following the incident. However, the victims expressed significant concern after learning he was released on 100,000 baht bail. The mother has voiced her intention to warn other Israeli and Jewish tourists about potential safety risks in the region.
