Israelitische Gemeinde Basel supports Nova survivors

The Israelitische Gemeinde Basel (IGB) has reported a successful fundraising effort for the project ‘Zurück ins Leben – Nova-Überlebende am ESC’. The initiative raised over 12,000 CHF from both Jewish and non-Jewish supporters to facilitate a dignified stay in Basel for young survivors of the October 7, 2023, Nova music festival, who accompanied their friend Yuval Raphael to the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.

A Shabbat dinner was held at the IGB with approximately 150 guests, including community members, Israeli friends, and political representatives such as Government Councilor Tanja Soland and Israeli Ambassador Ifat Reshef. The event focused on solidarity and connection, featuring speeches from a survivor and a survivor's father, alongside words of comfort from Rabbi Vanzetta.
