Israel's Amichai Chikli accuses French President Macron of betrayal

Israel's diaspora minister Amichai Chikli publicly denounced French President Emmanuel Macron, saying "Macron backstabbed us" after Macron recognized a Palestinian state on 22 September 2025 and criticised Israel's military actions in Gaza. Chikli made the remarks on Israel's Channel 14, adding that France's far‑right National Rally party was the most supportive of Israel's position.

He also rejected recent rulings by the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice against Israel, underscoring the growing diplomatic tension between Israel and France over the Gaza conflict and the recognition of Palestine.
