Israel’s Lavender AI system used for targeting in Gaza

An investigation by 972 Magazine into Israel’s ‘Lavender’ system describes an AI-assisted process used in Gaza to mark tens of thousands of Palestinians as suspected militants for potential assassination.

According to six Israeli intelligence sources, the system involves enormous target lists characterized by scant human scrutiny and predetermined tolerances for civilian deaths. The use of such technology raises concerns regarding the industrialization of lethal decision-making, as algorithms are utilized to process human lives as data for military targeting.
