Isère paraglider rescued from 200-meter cliffside

A paraglider was successfully rescued after becoming trapped on a steep rocky cliff approximately 200 meters above the ground near Fort Saint-Eynard in the Isère region of France. The incident occurred on Sunday, August 16, when the individual lost control of his paraglider due to local weather conditions.

Although the man managed to deploy his reserve parachute, strong winds blew him against the cliffside. He struck the rocks three times before becoming wedged in an extremely narrow, gravel-covered ledge measuring only 80 centimeters in width. The situation was considered highly dangerous because the reserve parachute remained hanging over the void; rescuers feared a sudden gust of wind could reinflate the canopy and pull the man from his precarious position.

The CRS Alpes mountain rescue unit conducted a specialized operation to reach the inaccessible location. The rescue was completed successfully, and the man was removed from the cliff with only a sprained finger reported as an injury.
