Isère reports strong summer tourism growth

The Isère department in France experienced a strong summer tourism season, driven by domestic visitors and a significant presence of international tourists, who accounted for nearly a quarter of overnight stays. Approximately 70% of accommodation providers in the region reported satisfaction with summer activity, a figure that rises to 75% in mountain areas.

Major sporting events and geographic features contributed to this growth. The Tour de France caused a 50% surge in attendance in the Pays Voironnais during late July, while the Oisans massif saw a 43% increase in overnight stays compared to the previous year. Additionally, the region's natural relief, including caves and high-altitude lakes, attracted visitors seeking relief from the heat.
