Issey Miyake expands textile research into lighting design
A-POC ABLE Issey Miyake is expanding its design exploration beyond traditional apparel through the TYPE-XIII project, a collaboration with the Swiss studio atelier oi. Presented during 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen, the project investigates the utility of fabric when it is removed from the context of clothing.
The second installment of the O Series, showcased at Gallery 2112 from June 10 to 12, 2026, features lighting fixtures where textiles act as architectural volumes to structure light. Inspired by organic elements like wood and stone, these lampshades transition the brand's textile research into the realm of interior design and craftsmanship.
