Istanbul 2nd Bar Association travels to The Hague with Gaza evidence

A delegation from the Istanbul 2nd Bar Association has traveled to The Hague to submit additional evidence to the International Criminal Court (ICC) regarding alleged genocide and crimes against humanity committed by Israeli officials in Gaza.

Bar Association President Yasin Şamlı stated that the delegation is carrying the demands for justice for women and children killed in Gaza. The submission includes extensive documentation, such as four folders, 25 CDs, 119 photographs, and numerous notarized statements. The evidence specifically targets attacks on civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, places of worship, and refugee camps, as well as the use of prohibited weapons and the targeting of aid seekers.

Şamlı noted that the legal process was initially initiated in November 2023 and brought to the ICC in December 2023. The association highlighted that their efforts have gained support from 3,614 lawyers from various countries and over 674,000 online signatures via a dedicated petition platform.
