According to OAG data shared with Euronews Travel, Istanbul Airport in Turkey offers the most direct connections in Europe, serving 294 destinations worldwide. The hub benefits from Turkish Airlines, which holds the Guinness World Record for the most countries reached by a single carrier.

Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (France) and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (Netherlands) share second place, each providing direct flights to 262 destinations. Other major European hubs include Frankfurt Airport (Germany) with 258 connections, Rome Fiumicino (Italy) with 230, Madrid‑Barajas (Spain) with 227, Barcelona‑El Prat (Spain) with 220, Munich (Germany) with 211, and London Heathrow (United Kingdom) with 210.

The ranking, based on the number of nonstop routes as of 29 July 2026, lists 25 airports across the continent, highlighting the varying degrees of connectivity that affect travellers' options and regional air‑traffic competitiveness.
