Istanbul Bar Association election candidates and alliances announced

Candidates and alliances are forming ahead of the Istanbul Bar Association elections scheduled for October 10.

Prof. Dr. Korkut Kanadoğlu has announced his candidacy representing the Lawyer Rights Group. Kanadoğlu emphasized the importance of protecting the secular and democratic legal structure of Turkey, stating that the bar must serve as a guarantee for lawyers and defend the principles of a democratic rule of law.

In a separate development, an alliance has formed behind candidate Hasan Kılıç. Filiz Saraç, President of the First Principle Contemporary Lawyers Group, has announced support for Kılıç, merging her group's efforts with the First Principle ÇAG Rise Movement. The alliance aims to defend human rights and the fundamental values of the Republic while working toward a stronger and more effective Istanbul Bar Association.
