Istanbul Bosphorus Triathlon to host 1,000 athletes across two continents

The 2026 Oral-B Istanbul Bosphorus Triathlon is scheduled for Sunday, August 16. Organized by the Turkish Triathlon Federation under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the event is expected to host approximately 1,000 local and international athletes.

As the world’s only intercontinental triathlon, the course consists of a 2.2-kilometer swim between Kanlıca and Küçüksu, a 40-kilometer cycling leg from Asia to Europe across the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, and a 10-kilometer run between Küçüksu and Çubuklu. For the cycling stage, the bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic in one direction.

This year marks the sixth edition of the event and introduces a new aquathlon race, featuring a 2.2-kilometer swim and a 10-kilometer run. Bayram Yalçınkaya, President of the Turkish Triathlon Federation, noted that the event is establishing itself as a global brand, highlighting its unique location and institutional reliability. Additionally, a partnership between Oral-B and the Anne Çocuk Eğitim Vakfı (AÇEV) will support children's health through the race's completion.
