Istanbul Chamber of Commerce elections result in Avdagic victory
The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) has concluded its elections to determine the members of its Assembly and Professional Committees for the 2026-2030 term. Current President Şekib Avdagic and his supporting lists secured a significant majority, winning 229 out of the 270 seats in the Assembly and 67 out of 80 professional committees.
Approximately 50,000 members participated in the voting process held at the Istanbul Expo Center in Yeşilköy. The results represent a mandate for the current administration's service and project approach, with Avdagic stating that the outcome reflects a 'green card' from the Istanbul business community.
The next stage of the election process will take place on November 4, 2026, when members will vote to elect the Board of Directors, the Board President, and other key leadership positions that will guide the chamber for the next four years.
