Istanbul concert tragedy: Two dead and one critical after attendees collapse

Two people have died and a third remains in critical condition following a medical emergency at the ‘Unreal x Jeton’ concert held at the Istanbul Congress Center in the Şişli district. The incident occurred around 03:15 during the event, which was attended by approximately 5,000 people.

Three attendees—Furkan Aksu (29), Mahmud Sami Ramazanoğlu (24), and T. M. (33)—suddenly collapsed and were rushed to Taksim Training and Research Hospital. Despite medical interventions, Aksu and Ramazanoğlu passed away, while T. M. remains in intensive care with life-threatening injuries.

Police and medical authorities are investigating the cause of the collapses, with preliminary assessments focusing on the potential use of alcohol or illicit substances. While the event was restricted to individuals aged 18 and over and alcohol was served, authorities confirmed that the organizers possessed all necessary legal permits. The concert venue was evacuated following the incident, and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
