Istanbul court rejects Can Tanrıyar's 6 million TL lawsuit

The Istanbul Civil Court of First Instance has rejected a 6 million TL compensation claim filed by journalist and television personality Can Tanrıyar against his former wife, singer Petek Dinçöz.

Tanrıyar alleged that he was owed unpaid fees from a television program during the period he served as Dinçöz's manager. He claimed that although Dinçöz received the funds following a legal dispute with a production company that concluded in 2021, the money was never transferred to him.

Dinçöz's legal counsel requested the dismissal of the case based on the statute of limitations. The court ruled in favor of Dinçöz, rejecting the claim due to the expiration of the legal time limit. Tanrıyar has decided to appeal the decision to the Istanbul Regional Court of Justice.
